Catatan Bagi Mereka yang Berjuang dalam Menuntut Ilmu.

Sesunggguhnya apa-apa yang telah Allah ciptakan di alam semesta ini merupakan bukan suatu hal yang sia-sia saja. Akan tetapi banyak sekali makna-makna yang terkandung tentang penciptaan alam raya ini. Untuk itulah, manusia dituntut untuk menggunakan akal dan hatinya untuk memahami makna-makna yang tersembunyi di dalamnya.

Allah telah menghamparkan seluruh alam raya ini untuk keperluan umat manusia. Alam raya ini diibaratkan panggung yang besar yang telah berisi fasilitas untuk dimainkan dan umat musliminlah yang berperan sebagai actor utama. Mengapa umat muslimin berperan sebagai actor utama? mengapa bukan sebagai penonton atau peran pembantu saja? Alasannya adalah karena umat mulim adalah Rahmatan lil’alamin. Bukankah Allah telah memberikan kepada kita yaitu Al Quran dan teladan para Rasul, serta gelar khalifah kepada umat manusia. Dan umat musliminlah yang mengikutinya.
Dengan demikian, umat muslimin harus bersyukur dengan menjadi pribadi yang prestatif di segala bidang. Tanpa terkecuali. Ingat, bahwa pada generasi awal dakwah Islam, para sahabat telah menunjukkan keahlian masing-masing. Khalid bin Walid sebagai jenderal perang yang handal, Saad bin Abi Waqash adalah pemanah ulung, Ali bin Abi Thalib adalah orang yang cerdas, Abdurrahman bin Auf sebagai pengusaha besar, dan masih banyak lagi.

Umat muslim dituntut untuk waspada dan bersiap siaga. Dalam hal ini, yang perlu diperhatikan adalah persiapan yang kita perlukan yaitu potensi yang kita milki. Segala persiapan ini bisa terbukti jika apa yang telah dipersiapkan dapat menggetarkan musuh-musuh Allah. Dan sebaliknya, jika musuh-musuh Allah belum bergetar maka persiapan kita masih kurang, atau bisa jadi kita belum mempersiapkan apa-apa. Pertanyaanya, apakah musuh-musuh Allah sekarang ini bergetar melihat persiapan umat muslimin?

Ingatlah bahwa barang siapa yang bersungguh-sungguh maka dialah yang akan menjadi pemenang. Orang yang berhasil adalah orang yang focus, tidak ragu-ragu dan penuh percaya diri. Allah menghargai setiap usaha maupun proses bukan pada hasil. Oleh sebab itu, orientasi umat muslimin adalah pada amal. Hasil adalah hak preogatif Allah. Kita tidak perlu memikirkan hasil apa yang akan kita dapat karena Allah pasti akan menepati janjiNya.

Ada empat hal yang dapat menjadi ukuran prestatif.

1) Niat yang benar. Niat didasari pada motivasi yang kuat. Motivasi untuk apa? Apakah untuk mencari harta, wanita, kedudukan, atau yang lain? Tentunya niat yang benar adalah untuk mencari ridha Allah. Tidak ada niat yang terbaik selain itu.
2) sungguh-sungguh dalam berusaha. Ini penting karena seseorang dilihat dari kerja kerasnya. Seseorang yang bersantai-santai saja di rumah akan berbeda dengan mereka yang berangkat pagi pulang malam membanting tulang. Seorang pengangguran akan berbeda dengan seorang pekerja keras. Seorang preman yang nokrong di jalanan tentu berbeda dengan pelajar yang belajar siang-malam.
3) optimis dalam menerima hasil. Sikap optimis dapat terlihat dari penampilan, karena penampilan dapat mencerminkan sifat orang. Orang yang optimis selalu berjalan dengan kepala yang terangkat dan pandangan yang tertuju kedepan. Sebaliknya, orang yang pesimis selalu terbayang-bayang harapan kosong dan berjalan dengan tertunduk lesu.
4) bermanfaat bagi orang lain. Ini penting, karena inilah tujuan akhir dari kerja keras kita yaitu apa yang kita lakukan dapat bermanfaat bagi orang lain. Rasulullah telah mengajarkan doa, “Ya Allah, berilah aku ilmu yang bermanfaat, rizki yang baik, dan amal yang diterima”. Untuk apa kita melakukan suatu hal yang ternyata tidak bermanfaat atau malah mencelakakan orang lain? Itu hanya berbuatan sia-sia dan berujung dosa. Akan tetapi jika apa yang kita lakukan dapat bermanfaat bagi orang lain, maka minimal orang tersebut akan mendoakan kita.

Lalu bagaimana kita dapat mengukur tingkat keberhasilan kita?

Sedikit cerita. Berdasarkan hasil survey internasional yang komprehensif pada tahun 2003 oleh Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Negara dengan kualitas pendidikan tertinggi di dunia adalah FInlandia. Finlandia bukan hanya juara di bidang akademis, tetapi juga unggul dalam pendidikan anak lemah mental. Padahal, anggaran pendidikan Finlandia di bawah rata-rata anggaran Negara Eropa.

Ternyata dalam mengukur keberhasilan belajar, di Finlandia tidak menggunakan system ujian atau testing kepada siswa-siswanya, karena dianggap justru menghancurkan. Siswa diajar untuk mengevaluasi dirinya sendiri karena dengan ini mereka belajar bertanggung jawab. Para siswa diminta untuk membandingkan hasil belajarnya dengan hasil belajar sebelumnya. Dengan ini diharapakn siswa dapat merasakan kebanggaan pada diri mereka masing-masing.

Untuk itulah Rasulullah mengajarkan kita untuk selalu introspeksi diri dan muhasabah. Tidak perlu melihat orang lain, tapi perhatikanlah diri sendiri. Apa yang baik dari orang lain dapat kita ambil untuk memperbaiki diri.
Terakhir, dalam mencari ilmu tidak ada kata gagal, yang ada adalah menjadi lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Jangan takut di cemooh, tetapi takutlah ketika berbuat salah kepada Allah. Jangan berharap mendapat pujian atau perhatian dari manusia, tapi berharaplah mendapat pujian dan perhatian dari Allah.

Tidak sia-sia bagi siapa saja yang menuntut ilmu, terutama bagi yang masih sekolah dan kuliah. Dengan ilmu kita akan semakin mulia di mata Allah. Ilmu yang membuat kita semakin mulia adalah ilmu yang dapat mendekatkan kita kepada Allah. Justru sebaliknya jika kita tidak semakin dekat dengan Allah, maka ilmu kita akan sia-sia. Ciri orang berilmu adalah semakin tebal imannya dan semakin bertaqwa. Dengan ilmu yang kita miliki kita dapat menyeru kebaikan dan mencegah kemungkaran kepada umat manusia sehingga alam semesta ini dapat berjalan sesuai dengan apa yang dikehendaki oleh Allah swt.

“Kamu (orang beriman) adalah umat yang terbaik yang dilahirkan untuk manusia, menyuruh kepada yang ma’ruf, dan mencegah dari yang munkar, dan beriman kepada Allah. sekiranya ahli Kitab beriman, tentulah itu lebih baik bagi mereka, di antara mereka ada yang beriman, dan kebanyakan mereka adalah orang-orang yang fasik.” (Q.S Ali ‘Imran 110)
